Congratulations on your upcoming release! Let's see, so many choices of what book to get lost in -- I'm going to go with The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy.

Cassie said...

Gosh, that's such a difficult choice! Jane Eyre is actually my favorite book, so getting lost in that would be amazing. But, like Linda C., I too think Narnia is amazing. It's a tie between the two. lol. Thanks for the giveaway! *REALLY HOPES TO WIN* :D

Gah! I cannot wait to get my copy! And that has got to be one of the most gorgeous swag packs I've ever seen.

As for a book to get lost in... Is have to say Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones! (But ONLY if I get to BE Sophie!). Jane Eyre is also high up on that list so I can't wait to see your version of getting lost in it!

I'd love to get lost in Harry Potter. The writing's not my favorite, but how could you pass up the opportunity to get stuck in that magical world?

I'd love to get lost in the world of Harry Potter!

Your book sounds great! What an awesome giveaway!

Shelby said...

Well, Harry Potter of course.
But also Percy Jackson, and Toads and Diamonds, and The Goose Girl, and so so so so so so many more.

Rebecca said...

I'd travel into the world of Anna and the French Kiss! I absolutely loved the setting, it was magical. This book is a favorite of mine and I'd love to snag myself an Etienne (except he'd be all mine). <3 Thanks for the AMAZING giveaway and for making it international!!

prerna pickett said...

I've always wanted to see Mr.Darcy fall head over heels for Elizabeth Bennett. Plus, I loved the way they dressed back in the day.

Petra said...

Not very original, but Harry Potter for sure. I've had so many HP related dreams in which I was always trying the Expecto Patronum spell, but I've never seen what my Patronus was :( I really want to know what my Patronus is! :))

And the tweet:

And congratulations!:)

Angelica R. Jackson said...

I thought of so many books I love, but had to admit that a lot of those books are set in kind of dark and scary worlds. I probably wouldn't last 5 minutes lost in them! But I'd love to get lost in Scott Westerfield's Leviathin world--so many cool creatures and machines.

Thanks for the giveaway, and I'll retweet!

Faith E. Hough said...

Ah, I wish I lived in PA so I could come to your party. I hope it's amazing!
Part of me would love to get lost in The Scarlet Pimpernel...but it's probably too dangerous. So I'll take Anne of the Island. I'd love to be at college with Anne and her friends. :)

Eve Morasco said...

Aw, Ashley, thank you! And I just added WHAT CAN'T WAIT to my Goodreads list--looks gripping! My kind of story.

Linda, fantastic choice! The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is one of my favorites, too.

Lisa, shorrtlatte, Chrissy, and Shelby all voted for Harry Potter! Hogwarts is the coolest. Anyone been to the theme park yet?

Ruth, I can't believe I haven't read The Scarlet Pimpernel. It seems rather a violent world to be thrust into, but maybe also romantic and dramatic. I'm game.

Cassie, yes to Jane Eyre (of course!) and Narnia. So magical!

Patricia, so many people have recommended Howl's Moving Castle that I think it's about time I read it.

Rebecca, I'm with you on the world of Anna & the French Kiss. I love Paris, and Etienne is swoony.

And Prerna, who could forget P&P??? Have you seen Lost in Austen? I think you would love it!

Thanks so much for your creative and fun responses so far!

Eve Morasco said...

Oh yay, new entries while I was responding to the others!

Petra, I'll add you to the Hogwarts fan club! And when you figure out your Patronus, let us know!

Angelica, you are more daring than I. Leviathan sounds like a fascinating but somewhat harsh world.

And Faith, you're the second person to choose Scarlet Pimpernel, and I haven't read it yet. I need to get on that! (And oh, Anne of the Island... yes! I have to reread that one.)

I think I'd like to return to childhood and get lost in Anne of Green Gables. Wouldn't it be fun to be one of Anne Shirley's "kindred spirits"?

I'm really looking forward to reading A Breath of Eyre -- I love the title! Best of luck with your release!

Carrie, anything Austen-related would be fine by me. Especially if there were men like Darcy.

And Jennifer, you're the second person to pine for Green Gables. I would love to be one of Anne's friends. Thanks for the comments about the book & title!

Lost in Austen? Holy Crap! never even heard of it! I'm SO out of the loop :( I have an addiction to BBC and A&E dvd's and own ((ahem)) 3 DVD versions of Jane Eyre and about 3 Jane Eyre books...I recently found a 3rd edition hardcover of Jane Eyre but it has no publish date, it was inscribed in 1944 on the first page though. siiiigh...I had to pick it up for $4! right!?!?! :-) Jane Eyre is by far far far my favorite book. I cannot WAIT to get a hold of A Breath of Eyre! <3

I'd have to go with The Invention of Hugo Cabret -- sneaking into movie theatres and exploring the train station with Hugo and Isabelle would be pretty neat. (Lets just hope the Station Inspector never caught us!)

Can't wait to read A Breath of Eyre!

Rhapsody in Books, thank you, thank you! I hope my book is fun to get lost in!

BrooklynShoeBabe, I’m with you on Italy and getting to eat, travel, and romance vicariously! Have you read Summer in Europe? Delicious! And I really enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love, especially the Italy section.

Monica and Krista, yay for two more P&P fans! And Krista, here’s to well-loved and well-used books!

Celine, I totally fell for Etienne as well. Stephanie Perkins is the master of slow burn swoon!

Lux, original answer! I just bought The Invention of Hugo Cabret for my husband, and we pored over the illustrations of a magical, thirties Paris.

Thanks, everyone, for entering! I’ll have the winner posted early Tuesday morning!

Hmm, well my first instinct was one of the Austen novels, probably Northanger Abbey. However, I really like modern conveniences, so I think that and second choice (Graceling) might be out.

So, I'll go with the safe answer of Harry Potter.

Or The Eyre Affair, so I can be in ALL of the books.

I know a few people have said this already but I will have to go with Harry Potter as well!! Such a fascinating world! Great giveaway :) miaka_yuki70@hotmail.com

At the risk of sounding cheesy, I'll have to go with Jane Eyre! It's my all time favorite.

Close seconds would be Chronicles of Narnia and Emma. :)

Laurisa White Reyes said...

Wuthering Heights - although that is a rather depressing story. Hmmm... Harry Potter - nah, too scary. I think I would love to be a Hobbit in Lord of the Rings (minus the dragons and Orcs, of course.) laurisawhitereyes at yahoo dot com

Christina, I am with you on the modern conveniences. No to anything in ancient Greece or Rome, the Middle Ages, and possibly even the Renaissance.

Miaka and Nicole, everyone seems to love the world of Harry Potter, and who can blame them? So much fun!

Lori, how could anything related to Jane Eyre be cheesy?? ;)

And Laurisa, you’re the first person to say Lord of the Rings, but I think the Shire looks so cozy and wonderful. I concur!

I'm going to have to go with The Princess Bride by William Goldman. Swoon-worthy Westley, sword fights, and true love.

Who wouldn't want to get lost in Harry Potter's world? It would have to be either SORCERER'S STONE (pre-Voldemort's return), or right after DEATHLY HALLOWS (post-Voldemort's demise). But I wouldn't want to be a squib in Harry's world. That would be too frustrating. :)

Eve Morasco said...

Jessica, I had almost forgotten about The Princess Bride! Excellent choice.

Bethzaida, almost every book lover has recommended Jellicoe Road. I think it's time to get myself a copy. The synopsis doesn't do anything for me, but everyone raves about it.

And Colin, so what you're saying is you want to hang out with Harry and his chums and do magic but not risk your life to fight evil? I see where you're going with that... very wise.
